Assistant coach of the Black Stars, George Boateng, insists the country needs better pitches to help improve the quality of football.Several players and managers from the top divisions of Ghanaian football have complained about the poor nature of pitches in the country.And according to George Boateng, who has been paying attention to the local leagues, the playing surfaces need massive improvement.One thing that stands out for me is definitely the football pitches, he saidIf you want as a coach to play fast football you need better quality of a pitch. If the pitch is good the ball will go faster with a better detail, better shot on target. Everything just improves.So this is the one thing that I have noticed that I think will really help the players if they can get better pitches, he concluded.The Ghana Premier League starts on Saturday with Great Olympics hosting Bechem United on Friday.
