Former Accra Lions forward Benedict Wobenu is close to joining AshantiGold SC ahead of the upcoming season, GHANAsoccernet.com can report
The lanky striker has been training with the Miners since last week and is expected to put pen to paper in the coming days if an agreement is reached.
AshantiGold SC are set to lose prolific striker Shafiu Mumuni during the January transfer window and Wobenu is likely to be his replacement.
Wobenu earned an invitation to the Black Stars B in 2017 after excelling for Accra Lions FC in a test game.
The 24-year-old had an impressive campaign in the 2016/2017 season as he netted 13 goals in 14 appearances for Accra Lions FC in the third-tier.
