Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah will begin preparations for AFCON 2019 with the game between Ghana and Kenya and the friendly against Mauritania.
The team will host the Harambee Stars in the final AFCON 2019 qualifier in Accra on March 23rd before engaging Mauritania in an international friendly three days later.
Having already qualified for the tournament in Egypt in June, Kwesi Appiah will use the game to assess the players invited to camp as well as prepare his final team for the competition.
Coach Kwesi Appiah named a 24-man squad for the two games in Accra, including giving debut call ups to five players.
It is unclear if the Ghana Football Association will arrange any pre-tournament friendlies for the senior national team but sources close to GHANASoccernet.com reveal the two games will serve as final preparatory matches ahead of the biennial competition.
Turkish based Caleb Ekuban and Al Jazira forward Ernest Asante are both earning debut call ups with Asante Kotoko trio Felix Annan, Amos Frimpong and Kwame Bonsu, the only local players in the squad.
Coach Kwesi Appiah left out captain Asamoah Gyan and dependable defender Jonathan Mensah from the squad but both are expected to make the final list for Egypt 2019.
Meanwhile, the final list of 23 players for the Africa Cup of Nations will be announced after the games between Kenya and Mauritania.
