Serbian giants Red Star Belgrade are set to cut short the loan deal of Ghana international Rashid Sumaila in January, which could see the defender return to parent club Al Qadsia.
Rashid Sumaila joined the Serbian champions in the summer on a year long loan but the 25 year old will be making an early return to Kuwaiti side following Red Star's needs to cut down cost at the club.
The ex-Asante Kotoko defender has played only three games for the club since joining the club in July. Sumaila joined the club as replacement for defender Akwasi Frimpong who left in the summer to join Ferencvarosi.
Red Star Belgrade have extended the contract of Filip Stoikovic and have agreed deals in principle with Nenad Milijaš and Vujadin Savic meaning they have to cut down expenses by letting some players leave.
Meanwhile, Sumaila's compatriot Richmond Boakye-Yiadom, swho scored over the weekend will stay at the complete to complete his two year load deal from Chinese side Jiansu Suning.
