German side Schalke 04 are considering ending their association with Ghana defender Abdul Baba Rahman.
The Bundesliga outfit will seek for the premature cancellation of the deal due to fitness concerns.
The 24-year-old has made just two starts and one substitute appearances since joining the Royal Blues on a season long loan from Chelsea.
And manager Christian Heidel has hinted the club will be forced to terminate the contract if his fitness does not improve.
"Baba needs games to get into the shape he had before his injury, and if he cannot get that season, we'll talk to him in peace in the winter," said Heidel on the sidelines of his side's 3-1 defeat to Porto in the UEFA Champions League
The Ghanaian suffered a cruciate ligament rupture at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations and has since struggled to recover from the career-threatening injury.
Rahman completed an 18-month loan return to Schalke this summer but things have not gone according to plan.
