Deputy Ghana captain Andre Ayew has expressed satisfaction on scoring to earn a point for Fenerbahçe in the Istanbul derby on Monday night.
Andre Ayew scored in the 71st minute to cancel out former Liverpool forward Ryan Babel's early strike for Besiktas, to help Fenerbahçe pick a point at home.
The on-loan Swansea attacker took to social media to express his excitement on scoring. He also stated the team wanted a win but had to settle for a draw and are looking forward to the next game on Sunday.
"we really wanted a win in our stadium .. an incredible atmosphere. we fought till the end and we will never give up.. I thank Allah for this goal in my first derby. let’s prepare for sunday," he posted on Twitter.
Fenerbahçe will next travel to face Rizespor on Sunday with the aim of picking up all three points following their difficult start to the season.
Ayew played full time and has now scored two goals for the club since arriving from Swansea in the summer.
