Managing Director of Databank Kojo Addae-Mensah believes it will be premature for Black Stars Kwesi Appiah to recall Andre and Jordan Ayew back into the team's fold.
Reports in the media suggest the pair is being punished for failing to travel with the team for the return leg against Congo in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
Both players justified their absence with medical reports of their health situations at that time, while Appiah defended an earlier snub saying it was due to the form of the players.
Despite the claims being refuted by coach Kwesi Appiah, the duo were again excluded from the team’s AFCON 2019 qualifier against the Harambee Stars of Kenya in which Ghana were pipped 1-0 by the hosts.
“I still support Kwesi Appiah’s decision of not calling the Ayews,” Mr. Addae-Mensah told Happy FM.
“They are distracting the team. The attention is always on them whenever they are with them.”
“It’s premature to ask Kwesi Appiah to invite the Ayews.”
The Black Stars return to action next month when they play Sierra Leone in a double-header in the qualifiers.
Appiah’s outfit is now tied on points with Kenya, Ethiopia and Sierra Leone, who all have three points apiece.
