Tottenham are reluctant to release Kenya midfielder Victor Wanyama for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ghana on Saturday.
Spurs claim the defensive midfielder is injured and must stay back in London to complete his rehabilitation.
The two countries are in a tug-of-war over the influential Kenya captain ahead of the must-win game against the Black Stars.
And FKF Media Liaison Officer Barry Otieno has confirmed the stand-off.
“We have been engaging Spurs since the first day when coach Migne named the provisional squad for the Ghana fixture but so far we don’t have a proper answer to give you,” he told Goal.
“We are entitled to have Wanyama in camp because this match falls under the Fifa calendar but again it will be unnecessary to have him travel all the way to Kenya and fail to start or play a part in the match.”
Ghana top group F with three points after thumping Ethiopia 5-0 in their qualifying campaign.
