Former Ghana Boxing Association President Moses Foh-Amoaning has called on players of the national team to play for honour and not money.
According to the astute lawyer, it was ridiculous for players to expect the same bonus from playing in competitive games as friendly games.
There were reports that some senior players dropped form playing the international friendlies against Japan and Iceland due to a slash in bonus.
However, Mr. Amoaning said the players should be proud of wearing the national jersey.
“It is an honour to wear the national team jersey for your country, out of twenty-eight (28) million Ghanaians," he told 442gh.com.
“They should apologize to the entire Ghanaian, or else we should dissolved the Black Stars team and form a new team with the local players,”
“If the Black Stars do not change from their money conscious nature, they will never win anything for Ghana,” he added.
The senior national team beat Japan 2-0 in Yokohama on Wednesday before facing Iceland on June 7th.
