Black Stars forward Richmond Boakye Yiadom believes the Chinese Super League is tougher than the Serbian topflight league.
The Ghanaian who joined Jiansung Suning from Red Star Belgrade has debunked the notion that the Chinese Super League is a less competitive league.
According to Richmond Boakye-Yiadom his goal scoring rate was prolific in Serbian but due to the competitive nature of the Super League he has struggled to rake in same numbers.
“Most people in Europe don’t see the Chinese League as a difficult one,” Boakye said, as reported by Citinewsroom.
“You need to play in it to believe it [toughness], because I used to score a lot of goals in Serbia.”
“I have played eight matches since [I came to China] and I have scored only two goals.”
“This means that I have to work harder.”
The former Juventus forward scored 39 goals in two seasons at Red Star Belgrade before moving to China.
He has been named in Coach Kwesi Appiah's squad for the International friendlies against Japan and Iceland but reports indicate he will miss the games due to injury.
