Leeds United supporters have launched stinging potshots at Ghanaian forward Caleb Ekuban following his performance in their 2-0 win over Queens Park Rangers on Sunday.
The 21-year-old has struggled in his first season with the Lily-Whites since joining from Chievo Verona at the start of the campaign after suffering an injury and a serious lack of form in front of goal.
Ekuban has netted only two goals in the process, with one coming against Bolton in March and the other coming against Port Vale in the Carabao Cup last August.
The supporters of the club were angry at head coach, Paul Heckingbottom when he decided to start Ghanaian over the likes of exciting youngster Ryan Edmondson.
Their initial concerns were fully justified as the ex-Chievo forward failed to perform against QPR in what was effectively a dead-rubber tie.
One supporter was furious with Ekuban’s display and claimed that the club should “just sell” the forward.
Ekuban has made 21 appearances in all competitions in his debut season for Leeds after he arrived from Chievo in the summer.
Chris Wood has scored the same amount of Championship goals for Leeds this season as Ekuban, even though the New Zealand international was offloaded to Burnley last August.
