Alajo-based AFC Thunder's Nigerian player Joseph Chinecherem dies during training match

Third-tier side AFC Thunder's Nigerian import Joseph Chinecherem is said to died minutes after his being substituted in a training match.

The incident is said to have happened on Friday, 27 April, 2018 at the Avenor Railways Park.

Chinecherem was substituted in the second half of the match and went to sit on the bench.

But after two minutes,  he fell on his back and the medical team tried to resuscitate him but was unsuccessful.

He was then rushed to the nearby health centre-Mission Clinic at Caprice-but they were directed to Korle Bu Polyclinic where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
