The Ghana Premier League has been handed a massive boost in terms of media coverage following the unveiling of a modern Outside Broadcast (OB) Van by broadcast sponsors StarTimes.
The unveiling was climaxed with a tour of the van by CAF President Ahmad Ahmad, GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi and other CAF dignitaries who attended the unveiling of the final nominees of the aiteo CAF Player of the Year and other categories at the Movenpic Hotel in Accra.
The media were not left out as they took turns to also tour the inside of the multi-purpose OB Van expected to bring improved coverage to the Ghana Premier League.
The high performance equipment boasts 12 ULTRA HD Cameras with a Virtual Production Studio and six flexible operating areas that support Ultra HD 4K production.
The van was built around 12G-SDI broadcast infrastructure.
The trailer has a triple expansion that allows plenty of space for operation and is designed for large productions.
Designing the virtual production studio with a chroma key embedded inside the OB Van using pan-title-zoom (PTZ) cameras and a dedicated, fully configurable, light studio set.
It also stocks a large 3-D shaped monitor wall behind the fully adjustable production console, a dedicated audio room with insulation treatment and a noise isolated equipment room.
The 14m-long truck has the capacity for a twenty-strong team, and includes an expandable production gallery, as well as a stand-alone television studio workflow, which means the vehicle can be used comfortably for longer periods, allowing multiple productions to take place without the space becoming too cramped.
