Hearts of Oak captain Thomas Abbey believes obstacles prevented his side from winning the just ended Ghana Premier League crown.
Many connoisseurs of the Ghana Premier League considered the Phobians to be one of the most exciting teams during the just ended season.
The Accra-based giants finished the campaign in 3rd position with 48 points and scored 42 goals, the second highest after league winners Aduana Stars, who finished with 45 goals.
But Abbey says they could have ended the season as champions but for many impediments.
"We are okay with our position. We fought well to win the cup but we didn't attain our goals, but we will give thanks to God for seeing us through the season unscathed," Abbey stated on Happy FM.
"Everybody saw the efforts we put in this campaign but there were so many obstacles which prevented us from finishing as champons. At times we'll go into a match well prepared but referees denied us of victory but it's over now so we'll live with it."
Hearts have a date with arch rivals Asante Kotoko in the MTN FA Cup final on Sunday October 29 at the Tamale Stadium.
