Welsh-born of Ghanaian descent Ethan Ampadu has been named in the Chelsea squad to face Crystal Palace today.
The 17-year-old was included in Antonio Conte's final squad that travel to South London to take on the Eagles in the English Premier League.
Ampadu was named alongside Kyle Scott as replacement for Ngolo Kante and Drinkwater - who have been ruled out of the match due to injury.
"We have to approach seven games in this month and we need to find a solution – adapt some defenders or give some younger players an opportunity like Scott or Ampadu," Conte said during the pre-match conference.
"We have to approach these next seven games without Kante and Drinkwater.
"We have Fabregas and Bakayoko and our young players like Kyle Scott and Ethan Ampadu, we have to find a solution."
He made his competitive debut for Chelsea against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup last month.
Ampadu is still eligible to play for Ghana, England, Ireland despite featuring for Wales.
