The annals of Ghana football have witnessed another strange happening following officials of Division One League side Nea Salamina to invoke the spirits on their ancestors on leaders of Ghana football and politicians who attempt to rob them of their Premier League qualification status.
To them, they have fought tirelessly to deserve a qualification into the Ghana Premier League but suspect some fishy underhand dealings after Techiman Eleven Wonders won a protest to outmuscle them from the top of the table.
Techiman Eleven Wonders had their appeals against Techiman City and Nea Salamina upheld by the Appeals Committee of the Ghana FA given them additional 6 points to move on top of the Zone One league table on 60 points with two matches to end the season.
The decision of the Appeals Committee means that Nea Salamina will be second on the table with 55 points, a decision which has shaken the sympathisers and officials of Nea Salamina.
With a ram and some traditional schnapps, some officials of the club called on the chief priest of their traditional area to invoke curses on leaders of the Ghana FA who are suspected to be behind the Appeals Committee decision as well as some politicians who are believed to be influencing the decision.
The chief priest and the officials were caught on camera invoking their ‘River God; to deal drastically with any person who has a hand in twisting the decision to favour Eleven Wonders.
Below is the video:
The Zone One of the GN Bank Division One League has always been characterised by consistent controversies with legal wrangling which always draw the zone to a late closure compared to the Zone Two and Three.
The Zone One was recently given a month’s suspension to enable the legal body of the Ghana FA handle a dossier of legal issues in that zone alone.
This action by the officials and fans of Nea Salamina will surely cause a stir in the top hierarchy of the legal framework of the Ghana FA if indeed a fishy deal has transpired as many Ghanaians believe in the swift punishments of ancestral spirits.
