Black Stars B captain Isaac Twum was disclosed that they were determined to pacify Ghanaians with the just ended WAFU Cup of Nations trophy after failing to qualify to next year's CHAN tournament.
The Black Stars B were dealt a great blow in their quest to qualify for the CHAN tournament when they succumbed to a 4-3 aggregate loss to the Stallions of Burkina Faso.
However, the team were presented with a perfect chance to redeem themselves when they hosted the West African Union Cup.
The Maxwell Konadu-led side came alive in the tourney by smashing perennial rivals 4-1 in the final to clinch the cup.
And according to captain of the victorious side, Isaac Twum, they were determined to compensate Ghanaians for their CHAN failure, hence giving their all to win the ultimate.
“It is unfortunate we could not qualify for the CHAN but football is full of uncertainties; so myself and my teammates felt once we could not make it to the CHAN, then we must do whatever it takes to win the WAFU trophy for the country. That was our motivation,” Twum disclosed to Graphic Sports.
Twum, who was adjudged the best player of the tournament, described the WAFU tournament as a good competition but assured the Black Stars B would go places, given the opportunity.
