Ghana forward Latif Blessing scored a brace for Sporting Kansas City in their 3-0 win over FC Dallas in the quarter-finals of the US Open at the Children's Mercy Park on Tuesday evening.
Both teams had quality chances in regulation time but the game ended in a stalemate.
And in 105th of extra time, Sporting KC opened after Benny Feilhaber raced past Dallas defenders to set up Latif Blessing to slot home with his second touch and give the hosts a 1-0 lead.
Sporting KC doubled their advantage just seconds after breaking the deadlock when Blessing's redirecting shot from distance beat goalkeeper Jesse Gonzalez to make it 2-0.
With time winding down, Sporting added a third when a Feilhaber pass left Daniel Salloi one on one with Gonzalez who had no chance as Peter Vermes' team booked passage to the semifinals.
