Former Chelsea and Cameroon international Geremi Njitap has lauded FIFA for the introduction and experimentation of the Video Assistant Referee at this year's FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia insisting it will bring fairness into the game.
To him, it is time the game of football is given some level of fairness as it dwells a lot on emotions.
The former Chelsea defender revealed that he contributed to the introduction of the new technology and is proud it has started working.
"To be honest, I was one of the players who suggested this technology to the new FIFA President when he came to office. We need this kind of technology in the game at this time.
"If you look back, there have been a lot of times that teams have had problems with officiating and just like tennis or rugby, we need it to improve the game," he told GHANAsoccernet.com
"We have started the implementation and it is normal that we shall have some challenges but with time it will improve," he added.
