Former player-cum-coach of Great Olympics Godwin Attram has reiterated that he will not return to the club unless management accept their ill-treatment towards him.
Speaking on Happy FM, Attram declared that, “Unless the club realize their mistake and accept that what I wanted to implement in the club was the right idea and also, chairman of the club (Amarkai Amarteifio) should open up the lid through press release that the plan I had for the club was the best and no matter what the situation I should be given the club to manage for three to four years because I have something good for Olympics.”
“It hurts when I heard that I was using Olympics for my personal interest. I can say that they’re rather using it for their personal gains,” the 36-year-old added.
“I started my career at Olympics and through hard work and determination I made it and I've been preaching to my players that should they follow my lead they’ll also find the same success. That’s what I wanted.”
“So, when they tell me that I, Godwin Attram is the cause of the club’s predicament, I become enraged because for after all that I did for the club, they couldn’t acknowledge my efforts,” Attram concluded.
Attram led Great Olympics to the Ghana Premier League from the second-tier division last season for the first time of asking.
However, due to the club’s poor start to the campaign, management replaced him with Swedish trainer Tom Strand, but results are still not forthcoming and they are in danger of making a swift return to division one.
Olympics are currently 15th on the table with 19 points after 20 matches.
