Dutch-born Ghanaian striker Elvis Manu says his potential call-up to the Black Stars has excessively 'delayed'.
The 23-year-old has been waiting in the wings for a call-up to the national team since switching nationality two years ago.
But the Brighton and Hove Albion wideman appears quite frustrated after being overlooked, two years after switching allegiance for the West African nation.
He was optimistic of earning a call-up under returning Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah ahead of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia.
But he was overlooked which has enraged the Dutch-born winger.
“I think, my invitation to the national team has delayed,” he is quoted by FootballMadeInGhana.com.
“When I was playing at Feyenoord, I was 21 then and I was playing the Champions League and scoring goals and from the moment up until now I have not had my chance.
“So I really think it has delayed.”
Manu came through Feyenoord’s academy and spent a decade with them before joining English side Brighton.
