Ghanaian giants Accra Hearts of Oak are set to name highly-respected Kempes Papa Nii Ofosuoware, as their new Managing Director (MD) in the coming hours.
Ofosuware, who has excelled in public administration and football administration by leading key institutions, is set to be unveiled.
Insiders have told Ghanasoccernet.com that the club's Board of Directors will be named as the new MD before they take on Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League on Saturday.
This means he will be unveiled to replace Vincent Sowah Odotei by Saturday ahead of the journey to the Brong Ahafo for Sunday's game.
Odotei, who is the Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon was keen on carrying on with his job until he was recently appointed Deputy Minister of Communication.
The Board settled on Kempes, a highly popular football and political figure in Tema, after an extensive search for a replacement who will move the club into the modern era.
His experience as the Municipal Chief Executive of Tema and one of the leaders of the then powerful Power FC, owned by the Electricity Corporation of Ghana, was credited for the club's excellent showing in the 1990s.
Kempes will start his duty next month as he returns to the game after years of absence even though he was responsible for several popular competitions in Tema which endeared him to many.
His main ambition is to revive the club by buying big locally and catapult the club to international prominence.
Kempes twice brought the NDC to near victory in the stronghold of the ruling NPP on two occasions in 2012 and 2016 as he narrowly he lost to Nii Kwatei Titus Glover, who is a former footballer.
