After days of deliberation one-time Ghana best referee J.O Lamptey has decided to appeal the decision from the World football’s governing body that bares him from taking part in any football related decision.
The immigration officer was handed a life time ban that prevents him from taking part in any football activity after he awarded a dubious penalty to South Africa in a 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Senegal.
According to his close friends there is an outside chance that he would appeal the decision, not to overturn the ban but to rather soften it and allow him to return to do his job as a center man after sometime.
Lamptey is not new to high profile suspension having been banned in 2011 for a similar debatable decision in a CAF Champions League game between Esperance and Al Ahly.
