The competition will involve clubs from the Division Two, the 48 Division One clubs and all the 16 Premier League clubs.
The Preliminary Round of the MTN FA Cup draw involving Division One and Division Two teams will also be held at the launch to decide the fixtures for the start of the competition. Clubs will be drawn from the 10 Regional Football Associations.
The 48 Division One clubs and 48 qualified Division Two will know their opponents after the first draw.
The competition returned about seven seasons ago and this year's competition will be the seventh edition with Nania FC, New Edubiase FC, Medeama SC, Asante Kotoko SC, Medeama SC and Bechem United FC being the winners of the last six editions.

The event will also be used to outdoor the competition’s new broadcast partner, StarTimes Ghana.
