Former Chairman of the Ghana Football Association Alhaji MND Jawula has lauded the move by the Ministry of Youth and Sports to vouch for a local coach to be next Black Stars coach.
There has been debate over who should be handed the vacant Black Stars coaching role between a local trainer and expatriate, but it seems the dust has settled down following the ministry of Youth and Sports staunch support for a local coach to be given the mandate.
Jawula has commended the stand taken by the ministry but urged the six-member committee mandated by the Ghana FA to headhunt a local coach with good credentials.
In an interview with Graphic Sports, Jawula stated,” It is good that the Ministry of Youth and Sports are reportedly vouching for a local coach.”
“That has been my stand all this while but whoever the committee appoints must have a pro-license other than that he has business coaching the Black Stars, which is one of the top teams in Africa brand.”
“My advise to the GFA is that they should head-hunt but I can’t mention names because I will be bias. They should just appoint a head coach and two assistants, all being Ghanaians.”
The Ghana FA closed its application doors last week Friday after receiving over 80 CV’s.
