Former Black Stars coach Avram Grant believes the Black Stars will need an expatriate at the helm of affairs as the search for his successor drags on.
A six-member committee headed by the nation’s football governing body Kwesi Nyantakyi has been mandated to search for a coach for the Black Stars before Ghana’s next World Cup qualifier against Congo.
But as the debate of who should be handed the vacant role between a local coach and expatriate gathers pace, the side’s erstwhile coach thinks it will serve the team right when an expatriate is appointed.
“They (Black Stars) need help from outsiders, but I think there are some people in the country who can also take up the job,” he said in a tape played on Kasapa FM.
The Ghana FA last Friday closed applications from coaches interested in the job with over 70 Coaches reported to have applied.
