President of Hearts Ladies Vincentia Deku has called on the Ghana FA to give the vacant Black Stars coaching job to Akwesi Appiah, and be assisted by Ibrahim Tanko and Maxwell Konadu.
The nation’s football governing body has mandated a six-member committee to head hunt a replacement for coach Avram Grant, who departed the role following the expiration of his contract last month.
Many advocates of the Black Stars are of the opinion that a local coach should be handed the role instead of an expatriate.
And, Vincentia Deku has opined in favour of the motion, but says the only Ghanaian coach who deserves the hot seat is Akwesi Appiah, “The one I know and whose job have seen in the past is Akwesi Appiah but I don’t know about the rest,” she told Graphic Sports.
“It was Akwesi Appiah who qualified the team to the World Cup in Brazil and he is currently working in Sudan, which means he is still active.”
“I have heard so much about Ibrahim Tanko too, that he is an experienced coach, and he is working outside Ghana, so if they combine him with Akwesi Appiah and Maxwell Konadu I am sure they will perform better with the team.”
