Avram Grant's contract as Ghana coach expires

Former Chelsea coach Avram Grant's contract as Ghana coach expired at 11.59pm last night, paving the way for the search for a new coach to begin. Even though the Ghana Football Association agreed for the contract to be mutually terminated, the contract was officially scheduled to end on 28th February, 2017. The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has appointed Maxwell Konadu as the caretaker Black Stars coach until a substantive head coach is appointed.
