The items include; 10bags of salt, 25 bags of rice, used cloth, shoes and bathroom slippers, 40 bags of sachet water, 4 boxes of mineral water, 3 bags of yellow corn, tubers of yam, palm oil, frytol oil, toilet rolls, 3 bags of gari, medicines, assorted soap, Cartons of tin tomatoes, toothpaste and toothbrush, shaving sticks, body lotion and shampoo, mosquito repellent and deodorant.
Mr. Eric Mussey, representative of the Men's Ministries, said the donation was part of their social responsibility and also to demonstrate the love of God for the inmate during this festive season.
He said the donation would be an annual programme and urged the public to cater for the needs of the poor including prisoners, for God’s blessings.
Pastor Frank Edward Vedeh, who quoted Mathew 25:31-40 noted that "I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me", and called on the relatives of inmates to make time to visit them especially during such festive times.
He told the inmates that they were equally important to the society and urged them to abide by all the rules and regulations in prison so that they would be vindicated one day.
Pastor Vedeh said "God still loves you and will always provide for you, Joseph went through same in the Bible and became Prime Minister of Egypt.
"You are not going to be here forever, some people came and they are now free , so your story will also change one day",.
Receiving the items on behalf of the inmates, DSP Emmanuel Darfour, commended the church for the support to the inmates.
He said the donation was timely and called on philanthropists, organizations, individuals and churches to support them.
