Tutukpene (O/R), Dec 11, GNA - The Corporate Social Responsibility Arm of City Construction Company Limited has donated a borehole to Tutukpene community in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region.
The mechanised borehole worth over GH¢ 170.000.00 is expected to serve over 400 people and to help solve water challenges within the farming community.
The community, for many years was depending on a stream after a borehole serving it broke down.
Mr Jung Won Chul, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Company said the borehole was to provide the community with potable drinking water for them to remain healthy and productive.
He said the Company “believes it's always good to give back to the community within which it operates" therefore would do all it could to support the people to enhance their livelihoods.
Mr Chul urged the people to ensure proper maintenance of the facility and also endeavour to keep their surroundings clean.
Mr Kini Geoffrey, Member of Parliament (MP), for Nkwanta South Constituency lauded the Company for the gesture, saying the facility would go a long way to solve part of their water challenges.
He urged other contractors, businessmen, politicians, philanthropists and other benevolent organisations to emulate the gesture of City Construction Company Limited and help serve water situations in the area.
Some members of the community who spoke to the Ghana News Agency expressed gratitude to the Company and pledged to ensure proper use of the facility.
