Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/R), Nov 20, GNA - The upgrading of Dormaa-Ahenkro town roads in the Dormaa Central Municipality of the Bono Region under the Ghana Integrated Infrastructure Development Programme is on course.
The five-kilometre road project commenced towards the end of September this year and covers Emmanuel Duku, Kwefio, Tuesday Market, Low Cost Area, Mosque-New Dormaa, Nana Afari Yeboah-Ahantrease, Brotherhood Church and Koraso New Site roads.
In addition, 20 kilometres of some selected roads in the Municipality have been earmarked to be rehabilitated, but the cost of both projects was not disclosed.
Mr. Drissa Ouattara, the Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) said when he addressed a Meet the Press event organised by the Assembly at Dormaa-Ahenkro as a platform to render accounts of development projects embarked upon since 2017 when the government assumed power.
It was attended by traditional rulers, workers of formal and informal sectors, religious leaders, and some members of the public.
On power situation, he said the Municipal Assembly was working with Northern Electricity Department of the Volta River Authority for a permanent solution to the challenge of erratic power supply confronting the Municipality.
Mr. Ouattara however said there was an improvement of power supply communities within and along Twumkrom-Danyame, Atesikrom-Nkrakwanta, Dwen-Aboabo, Masu, Anyinasu-Aboabo Number Two and Taforo-Koradaso lines.
He said Asensu Number Two, Ntabene, Taforo-Nsesereso, Asensu Dwen, Daterkrom, Kookyeremekrom, Wamano and Hyeihwiego communities have been earmarked for self-help electrification (SHEP) project.
