ABUJA, July 9, (Xinhua/GNA) - A march for the release of the detained leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife on Tuesday turned violent when hundreds of protesters invaded the Nigerian parliament in the capital, Abuja.
A security source told Xinhua that three policemen were shot by protesters who seized a rifle from a security agent and overpowered security operatives at the main entrance of the National Assembly Complex housing the Senate and the House of Representatives.
