Krachi (O/R), July 9, GNA - The Krachi West District Assembly in the Oti Region has presented items and start up kits worth GH¢180,000 to 50 persons with disabilities in the District.
The items include; cattle, rabbits, industrial sewing machines, deep freezers, fridges, wheel chairs, milling machines, gallons of cooking oil, cooking pots, laptops and desktop computers.
Mr. Douglas Nti Osei, Krachi West District Chief Executive (DCE) said the gesture indicated government's commitment towards the empowerment of Persons With Disabilities (PWDs).
"The Assembly will continue to support the PWDs in line the President's aim of equipping them with the requisite skills and training to promote inclusiveness,” he said.
Mr. Nti Osei said government was doing everything to ensure that the needs of PWDs were met to make them financially independent so they were not totally dependent on their families.
Nana Mprah Basemuna III, Krachiwura, commended government for supporting PWDs and advised them to put the items to good use.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Assembly and government and assured that the items would be put to good use to enhance their lots.
