Hohoe (V/R), June 26, GNA - The Hohoe Circuit Court has remanded Sedik Ayuba, a 29-year-old salesman into police custody for defiling a 13-year-old form two Junior High School student.
Sedik pleaded not guilty and will reappear in court on July 4, this year.
Presenting the facts of the case to the court, presided over by Mr. Yaw Poku Achampong, Police Inspector George Doe said the accused person was a former teacher at St. Joseph Preparatory Junior High School in Hohoe and now a salesman.
Inspector George Doe said on June 20, this year at about 1400 hours, the complainant, Mr. Anthony Hededzi, Head teacher of the school went the Hohoe Divisional Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit of the Ghana Police Service and reported that the accused on June 06, this year lured the victim into his room at Hohoe Zongo and had sexual intercourse with her.
He said the police upon receiving the report went and arrested the accused person on the same day for further investigations while a medical form report was issued to the complainant to send the victim to the hospital for medical examination.
Inspector George Doe said the accused person admitted committing the offence upon police interrogation.
