Goaso (Ash), June 26, GNA - Police in Goaso in the Ahafo Region on Tuesday arrested and Mr Eric Aduamah, the Goaso Municipal Director of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA).
Mr Aduamah has since been place in police custody over the alleged missing 14,497 bags of fertilizer to be distributed to farmers under the government's Planting for Food and Jobs (PfFJs) programme in the Municipality.
The Ghana News Agency investigations revealed that arrest was effected following a special audit embarked by MOFA in the Municipality.
Information indicates that Mr Aduamah could not produce the particulars of beneficiary farmers he allegedly distributed the 7,400 NPK and 7097 bags of Uriar fertilizers totaling GH¢ 946,000 supplied for distribution in the Municipality for the 2017/2018 crop seasons.
Madam Florence Sackey, the Goaso Divisional Crime Officer, confirmed the story.
