Zebilla (UE) June 19, GNA - Naba Belia Balimwin Ndaugo Azumbilla ll, Divisional Chief of Zebilla in the Bawku traditional area has charged residents in the area to observe sanitation within their surroundings.
Naba Azumbilla noted that good sanitation was key to health and called on the residents including; market women, and store owners to ensure their surroundings were clean before they commenced their routine businesses.
Naba Azumbilla made the call during a clean-up exercise organised by the Haven of Love Children's Foundation to clean-up some parts of the district at the weekend at Zebilla in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region.
Naba Azumbilla said the only enemy to the area was poverty and diseases, and encouraged them to clean the environment “this common enemy could be eliminated, dirty environments bring about diseases such as cholera, malaria and typhoid among others.
Naba Azumbilla commended the organisation for providing some health needs to the people and called on organisations to emulate the gesture, adding that the exercise would partly address the sanitation problems in the district.
Mr Samuel Nana Bekai Djirackor, Chief Executive Officer for the organisation emphasised on the need to care for the environment.
Mr Djirackor said the love of God was about care and that the organisation was prepared to support people, especially girls and the needy in society to have comfortable lives.
Mr Martin Atanga, Zoomlion supervisor for the area, said his outfit was understaffed which had affected effective operations, and called on the District Assembly and other stakeholders to support the organisation achieve its goals.
