They held a special celebration for party fathers including; President Akufo-Addo and a former Majority Leader and Minster for Parliamentary Affairs, Abraham Ossei Aidooh.
President Akufo-Addo who could not be there in person, was celebrated in absentia.
The party attracted a cross section of NPP bigwigs in the Tema West Constituency, and brought together party members and supporters as fathers in general, and fathers of the party in particular, were celebrated.
The Noble Ladies, showered Mr Abraham Ossei Aidooh with gifts in acknowledgement of his fatherly position in Tema NPP.
A legal luminary, Mr Abraham Ossei Aidooh is credited with planting and nurturing the NPP in Tema.
There is a joke in Tema NPP that he carried the party on his head like a ‘kayayo’ (head porter), from Accra to Tema, and planted it there at a time that the NPP had not yet caught on very much in the country.
“In appreciation of your fatherly role for our great party in Tema, we will like to present to you a token of our love and appreciation,” the Noble Ladies said before Mrs. Roselyn Dede Aryeetey and Naa Darkoa Darko, founding members of the group, presented the items to Mr Aidooh.
Receiving the item, Mr Ossei Aidooh thanked the women for their kind gesture and promised to mention it to President Akufo-Addo that his ‘children’ in Tema West celebrated him.
“But I will also use this opportunity to urge you to continue to be loyal to this party and its leader, President Nana Akufo-Addo,” Mr Aidooh advised.
He urged them to serve selflessly without any motivation for reward saying that at the end of the day, their selfless service would good reward for them.
“Take me as an example, when myself and a few others started the NPP in Tema, this place was fallow ground for us, but through the selfless service, God has used me to achieve so much and to crown it all, our party now dominates Tema. I can assure you that if you also continue to serve selflessly; your deeds will themselves bring you rewards. You never know, but someone is always watching,” he said.
According to him, in spite of great respect that was accorded him, he remained simple and associated with even very young people because whatever he was, happened by the grace of God.
“Mr. Ossei Owusu, the longest serving Tema West NPP Secretary and Mr. Francis Poribo, alias Major, are my best friends in the Constituency, who have shown loyalty to NPP over the years, likewise the hardworking Chairman of Tema West NPP, Mr. Dennis Amfo-Sefah, alias Nana Boakye,” he said.
In attendance at the party were big wigs including; Tema West Constituency Chairman, Dennis Amfo-Sefah, alias Nana Boakye. He also celebrated Mr Aidooh.
“The legal luminary, a former Majority Leader and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, a Board Member of Ghana Gas and an NPP guru, Mr. Aidooh, is liked by many because of his principled nature. I and others often run to him for advice in order to take decisions based on sound tactical political judgment,” He is a unifier and always wants NPP to unite”. Nana Boakye said.
After the platitudes and words of endearment, the floor was open for dancing and Lawyer Ossei Aidooh, was mobbed by his ‘children.’
Earlier, when he arrived at the venue for the party, he was similarly mobbed by the party members and supporters, especially the Noble Ladies.
