She asked the citizenry to develop interest in TVET because it provided skills, knowledge and attitudes to prepare individuals for employment and careers for national development.
The National Director said it also helped the youth to develop occupational competencies for industrial work, aid individuals to uphold the dignity of labour and right attitudes to "real work situations."
She said TVET provided answers to Sustainable Development Goals target of "No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Decent Work and Economic Growth," among others and called for concerted efforts to support the sector.
Mrs Awity noted that occupational demands were constantly changing and asked the graduands to acquire modern techniques in their careers and not to see the end of skill training as end of learning.
