Accra, May 31, GNA – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, has urged Ghanaian nationals living in the Republic of Nigeria, to ensure that they possess the requisite documentation to enable them to reside in the country legally.
Pursuant to the Economic Community of West African Protocol AP .1/5/79, relating to the Free Movement of Persons, Residence and Establishments.
This was contained in a press statement copied to the Ghana News Agency on Friday.
The statement explained that the Federal Republic of Nigeria on March 22, 2019, deported four Ghanaians nationals for falsification of Nigerian identity.
“Ghanaians in Nigeria are advised to abide by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to avoid any infraction of the laws of the host country” it said.
