A statement issued to the Ghana News Agency by Sub Lieutenant Ako Nai, Press and Information Officer of the Ghanaian Battalion in South Sudan has stated.
The statement said the donation was to support the Muslims in the PoC in the period of fasting and to make them aware of UNMISS solidarity and support when required.
The statement said the Commanding Officer of GHANBATT, Lt Col Antwi Awuah Darkwa who made the donations stated that the gesture of sharing indicated the love and care UNMISS Muslim community in Bentiu had for the PoC members.
He urged them to remain positive and steadfast in the Holy month of Ramadan so that they could experience Allah’s blessings.
The GHANBATT Imam, Lt Abdul-Majeed Shuaib Suleiman on behalf of the recipients expressed their gratitude for the donation and promised to use the donations for the good of the people in the community and not only Muslims.
