Zini (U/WR), May 10, GNA - The paramount Chief of Buwaa Traditional Area, Kuoro Abu Diaka Ninia Sukabe lll, has appealed to government to, resuscitate and complete all stalled and abandoned government projects in the area.
The Chief believed completion of the projects started with the taxpayer’s money would impact significantly on the socio-economic lives of citizens and prevent scarce national resources from being wasted.
Kuoro Sukabe III who was speaking during the 9th Buwaa/Kelwie Festival of the people of Buwaa in the Zini Traditional Area called on government to complete the Zini Community Day Senior High School, which was reported to be about 60 percent complete.
“It is worrying, how some projects started by past governments are always abandoned by sitting governments and thus drawing back development of the nation,” he added.
He said the Zini Health Center needed upgrading to a Polyclinic status to better serve the health needs of the people in the traditional area.
He also appealed for the construction and rehabilitation of roads connecting Zini to Jeffisi, Sangbaka to Jeffisi as the people made repeated calls on governments to tar the road networks in the Sissala areas.
“Completing and asphalting roads in the Sissala area as well as solving the communication challenges in the area will enhance residents’ access to telephone services,” he said, stressing that if not fulfilled it would be difficult for citizens to listen to politicians come 2020.
He encouraged financial institutions to extend their services to the people in the communities in the area.
The Buwah/Kelwie Festival is celebrated every year by the Buwah people in the Sissala West District in recognition of the people’s culture and also prepares them ahead of the next farming season.
