Accra, April 16. GNA - Mr. Isaac Kwame Asiamah, Minister for youth and sports has inspected a newly constructed girl’s dormitory at the Kofi Annan Youth Leadership, Skills and Training Institute (YLSTI) at Ajumako in the Central Region.
Mr. Asiamah said the purpose of the YLSTI, was to train the youth in employable skills like dressmaking, carpentry, metal fabrication among others.
The Member of Parliament for the Atwima Mponua constituency bemoaned the neglect and failure to maintain these centers over the years, adding that it was the vision of the Akufo-Addo led government to reform these institutions and run them professionally and rolled into the educational sector.
Mr. Thomas Agyei-Baffour, Deputy Central Regional Minister, who called on the school Authorities and Management, to ensure a rigorous maintenance culture to keep the facility in good shape for a long.
He expressed appreciation to the government for putting up such an edifice, adding that he was delighted the region was one of the beneficiaries.
Mrs. Lydia Sefa Mawusi, Principal of the Institute, also expressed appreciation to Government for delivering on its promise.
It would be recalled that Mr. Asiamah visited and inspected a refurbished boy’s dormitory facility for YLSTI at the Takrowase Institute in the Eastern Region a week ago.
