Agona Swedru, March 25, GNA - The Agona Swedru Magistrate’s Court on Monday remanded in Police Custody, two guards of the Agona West Municipal Assembly who were seen in a video on social media brutally assaulting a young boy.
The court, Presided over by Mr Isaac Apeatu, refused the plea of the two officers identified in video as Peter Danso and Isaac Ntsiful and would be re-arraigned before Court on Thursday, April 11, 2019 for the hearing of the case.
They have been charged with assault.
Police Inspector Chare N. Salia, prosecuting, told the court that no facts could be given because the Police had not completed its investigations.
Master Tsiboah, was seen in social media footage on his knees with a guard booting him severally on the head, while onlookers cursed and insulted him.
The video, which went viral, sparked public condemnation and people called for the officers who were initially mistaken for Policemen to be punished.
The Guards were arrested on the orders of the Inspector-General of Police on Friday, March 22.
