Koforidua, Mar 19, GNA - The Rev. Nicholas Yao Azalekor, Koforidua Presbytery Chairman of the Global Evangelical Church, has called on the Women’s Ministry of the church to train its members in economic activities for empowerment.
He said when women were economically empowered, they became a blessing unto their families, church and the larger society and therefore needed special attention to achieve their goals.
The Presbytery Chairman said this in an exhortation at a ceremony to induct into office, a 9-member elected executives from the various districts to lead the Women’s Ministry of the Koforidua Presbytery on the theme “Fan into flame the Gift of God in You”.
He said the gift of God was varied in each individual and admonished the leaders to live exemplary lives worthy of emulation in their homes, workplaces and in the church to win souls for Christ especially more women into their fold.
Rev. Azalekor said every leader weather born or made, needed the spirit of God to function fully and urged the women to be guided by the scripture in 2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and sound mind”.
The newly inducted President, Madam Enyonam Ekissi, thanked the church especially the women for the confidence reposed in them and said without the support of the members, they could do nothing and therefore urged them to offer advice and criticise them when necessary.
