Akim Oda (E/R), March 18, GNA - The General Overseer of the Hand for Christ Mission International, a Christian Church, Rev. Dr J. K. Amoh has cautioned Ghanaians against the use of threats of causing mayhem and using violence to settle political scores.
He argued that, such tendencies would not facilitate the democratic development of the country.
According to him, the culture of violence and impunity retarded growth and therefore, called on Christian youth in the country to guard against immoral behaviour and persistent acts of indiscipline, since they risked compromising their future.
The General Overseer was speaking in an interaction with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after delivering a sermon at an intercession programme organised by the church on the theme “God bless our country – Ghana” at Akim Oda in the Birim Central Municipality.
Rev. Dr Amoa pledged the co-operation of the church with the political leaders of the country to help improve the living standards of the people.
He called on Ghanaians to resolve to do everything possible and necessary to support the development of the country.
Rev. Dr Amoh stressed that nation-building needed the collective effort of the citizenry to achieve the required impact and therefore, entreated Ghanaians to abide by the principles and values that had sustained national peace.
He urged politicians to rally behind the government to ensure national development and advised them to do away with partisan politics that could negatively affect the country’s development.
He said chiefs were frontline agents of good governance, hence they must show interest in the provision of social amenities that eventually helped to alleviate the people from suffering.
