Koforidua, March 12, GNA - The New Juaben (NJ) branch of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) has organised a farewell party to honour their past executives.
The beneficiaries include the former Chairman of the branch, Mr Eric E. O. Gyamerah who served from 2009 to 2017, Ms Freda Opata, Vice chairman and Chairman from 2011 to 2017; former municipal treasurer, Ms Lukaya Issah; and Ms Doreen Isaka, GNATLAS Cordinator amongst others.
Mr Daniel Afedu, the Eastern Regional GNAT Secretary, commended the old executives for their good work and pleaded with them to share their experience with the young and upcoming teachers.
He assured the old executives that the doors of the regional GNAT office is opened to them for their advice and suggestions.
Mr Afedu expressed the appreciation of GNAT to the old executive for their sacrifices and urged them to be ready to offer their support when the current executives call on them for advice.
Ms Mavis Yerenkyi, the New Juaben South Municipal Director of Education, and chairman for the programme urged teachers to be proud of their organization which is one of the best trade unions in the country.
She called on older members of GNAT to share the successes and achievements of the association to motivate young teachers to join the association.
Ms Yirenkyi said by focusing on their achievements and success, they could turn their frustrations into joy and hope.
