MTN Ghana Springboard Road Show empowers hundreds of students

Kumasi, March 12, GNA – The first edition of the 2019 Springboard Road Show has been held in Kumasi with hundreds of students in the Metropolis benefiting from the annual event.

The event, is a motivational and personal development programme that brings together young people from different societies for mentorship.

It is an initiative of the Springboard Road Show Foundation (SRSF) with support from MTN Ghana.

Mrs Pala Asiedu Ofori, Senior Manager in Charge of Commercial and Legal Affairs of MTN Ghana, speaking on the theme: “The Digital Revolution: Implications for the Job Market”, implored the youth to embrace technology in order not to be left out of the digital revolution.

She said with the increasing use of technology in every sphere of life, it was important for the youth to look at their current situation and see what they could do to improve themselves going forward.

“It is a tide that is here with us. Unless you swim, you are going to sink”, she insisted and underlined the need for them to brace themselves up for the digital age.

She challenged the youth to look further at what the future holds and how they could leverage on the digital age to improve their lives.

MTN, she noted, was committed to support the youth especially students every step of the way in their quest to explore the digital world.

Mrs Comfort Ocran, Executive Director of SRSF, said it had become imperative for individuals to be conscious about the digital revolution and position themselves for its implications on daily lives.

She said a lot of jobs being performed by humans were going to be redundant and would be replaced by machines and robots in the near future.

She stated that the digital revolution offered a wide range of opportunities that people could take advantage to make a living.

Mrs Ocran counselled students to be guided by the apparent implications of the digital revolution in pursuing courses to remain relevant in future.
