Ho, March 12, GNA - Togbe Gbeworza II, Managing Director, Wilkado Construction Limited, the firm working on the Ho Multipurpose Youth Resource, has said the facility would be ready for use by June, 2019.
He said the 10,000 seating capacity project was 80 per cent complete and that external works would be done in weeks for final handing over to the National Youth Authority.
Togbe Agbeworza gave the assurance when Mr Emmanuel Asigri, Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, and board members of the Authority paid a working visit to the site on Monday.
He said the company overcame initial challenges of clearing the forested area and preparing the muddy area for the project, which is expected to promote youth and sports development in the region.
Mr Asigri, said he was impressed with the progress and quality of work and hopeful the facility would be ready for commissioning in June.
He commended the contractor for “going through the tedious part of the work” successfully and working to meet the deadline.
Mr Asigri said the project when completed would help unearth talents and promote youth and sports development.
The project, estimated at US $ 2.4 million, will have a FIFA-standard football pitch, an eight-lane modern athletic track, tennis, handball and volley ball courts.
It will also have a gymnasium, a multi-purpose ICT centre, an entrepreneurship centre, counselling unit and a modern restaurant.
