Kumasi, Feb. 3, GNA - The National Sports Authority (NSA) is working assiduously to run regular refresher courses for its staff nationwide, Professor Peter Twumasi, the Director-General, has asserted.
This, he said, was in line with the Authority’s vision to build the competence of the core staff for optimum performance in the discharge of their duties.
“We are of the conviction that such training programmes had become vital to expand the knowledge base of our workers in all departments of the Authority,” he told the GNA Sports.
This was on the sideline of the closing session of a two-day training programme, organized by the NSA for its regional directors, administrators and accountants at Sugar Hill in Kumasi.
The trainer of trainees programme was designed to boost the leadership and managerial skills of the participants within their working terms of reference.
Topics discussed related to conflict resolution and management, leadership and team work, as well as managerial skills.
Prof. Twumasi pointed out that the refresher course was in response to building the capacity of the NSA’s leadership in order to be able to deal with the challenges in their job.
He advised the participants to take seriously lessons learnt at the workshop, saying it was expected of them to share their experiences with their subordinates to engender effective coordination within the hierarchy of the Authority.
