Accra, Jan 29, GNA - Workers of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) have doffed off their hats for the Director of Tema Port, Mr. Edward Kofi Osei, for his good works.
“Our hardworking Director of Port has worked perfectly in concert with the Director – General and the Board Chairman and transformed GPHA massively in the short time he has been in office” Mr. Fredrick Nartey, a staff of the GPHA has said.
"You don’t discourage a winning Team, especially at a place like the GPHA which is very crucial for Revenue Generation for the country”. We have decided to hail our Director of Port in a short statement for his resourcefulness and exemplary leadership style.”
The works gave this commendation in a News Conference in Accra.
Mr. John Mensah, another worker praised the cordiality between the Director of Port, the DG and Board Chairman of the Authority, Mr. Peter MacManu. “the kind of smooth relationship between the Board and Management is something that I have never seen in my life before,’’ Mr. Mensah said.
Later, on the sidelines of the Conference, Mr. Hayford Adjei, a Mechanic with the Civil Engineering Department of the GPHA said the President would be shooting the country in the foot if the Director of Port was not encouraged to do more, as it is often said “lack of encouragement can be quite detrimental.”
“I have worked with the Authority for 23 years and I think the current Director of Tema Port is the best so far. I just admire him for the way he smoothly works with Departmental heads to promote the company’s interest and it would be a very good idea if he is motivated”.
He encourages us at durbars to work harder and allow our actions to be guided by the spirit of self-disciplined and mutual respect at all times,
His Godfearing nature and human relations is very excellent and has the welfare of the workers at heart, that is why he is liked by many workers of the Authority”.
